These terms apply to your use of Will-O-Wisp NFC Alarm ("the app"), operated by JIYAA, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to them.
The app
The app is an alarm that you stop by tapping NFC tags with your phone. It needs an Android phone with NFC and NFC tags, which are not supplied with the app. Any brand of compatible NFC sticker can be used.
Please read: alarm reliability
We work hard to make the alarm dependable, but an app on a phone cannot be guaranteed to ring every time. The alarm can be affected by your phone's battery-saving settings, manufacturer restrictions, operating-system updates, low battery, the phone being switched off, muted or out of storage, and other factors outside our control. Please follow the setup steps in the app and test your alarm.
Do not rely on the app as your only alarm for critical events such as flights, exams, medical needs or safety-related tasks. The app is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition, including sleep disorders.
Safety
Place tags where you can reach them safely, and take care when walking in the dark. Don't place tags near stairs, wet floors or hazards. Sunrise mode can turn on the flashlight — don't look directly into it.
Pro, subscriptions and payments
- Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, all sold through Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial: where offered, the yearly plan starts with a free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, you will be charged.
- Welcome offer: new users may see a discount during their first 30 days after installing. It decreases over time as shown in the app and applies to the first year of the yearly plan and to the lifetime purchase.
- Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel anytime in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies.
- Ad-unlocked Pro: in the free version, watching an optional ad may unlock Pro features for a limited time, as shown in the app.
- We may change prices or features in the future. Price changes to existing subscriptions follow Google Play's rules, including advance notice.
Ads and third-party services
The free version contains ads from Google AdMob. The app relies on services from Google (Play, Firebase, AdMob), whose own terms apply. The "Need NFC tags?" link takes you to Amazon; we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, and we are not responsible for products sold by others.
Acceptable use
Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, bypass its purchase or licensing features, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend Pro access obtained by abuse or fraud.
Our content
The app, its name, the Will-O-Wisp flame, badges, artwork and text belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including missed appointments, travel, work or other events — arising from use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be excluded.
Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; remember to cancel any subscription in Google Play. We may discontinue the app or any feature, giving reasonable notice where possible.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
