Will-O-Wisp

Privacy policy

Effective 4 October 2026

In short: your alarm, tags, streaks and badges stay on your phone. We only receive your email if you choose to join our tips & offers list, and you can remove it at any time. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Crash reports help us fix bugs. We never sell your data.

Who we are

Will-O-Wisp NFC Alarm ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and operated by JIYAA, Tamil Nadu, India. For anything in this policy, contact willowispapp@gmail.com.

Information that stays on your phone

The following is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to our servers:

This information is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. You can also reset your history and badges in Settings.

Information we collect only if you choose

Tips & offers by email (optional)

If you tap "Continue with Google" to join our email list, Google's account picker shares your email address and name with the app. We store:

This is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). We use it only to send you occasional wake-up tips, product news and offers about Will-O-Wisp. Our legal basis is your consent. No app account is created.

You can withdraw consent at any time: tap Settings → Unsubscribe & delete my email in the app, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us. Your entry is then deleted.

Purchases

Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play. We receive only the purchase status — which plan you have and whether it is active — so the app can unlock Pro. We never receive your card or payment details. Google's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.

Advertising (free version only)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device type and how you interact with ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice anytime under Settings → Ad privacy choices.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads). Pro users see no ads. Learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Crash reports

When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a technical report so we can fix the problem. It includes the device model, Android version, app version, the time of the crash, technical details of what went wrong, and a random installation ID. It does not include your tag names, history or email.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is processed by these service providers on our behalf: Google Firebase (email list and crash reports), Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play (purchases). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.

The "Need NFC tags?" link opens Amazon. Amazon's own privacy policy applies there, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases.

Storage, transfers and retention

Information handled by Google may be stored on servers outside your country, protected by Google's security and contractual safeguards. We keep your email only while you are subscribed. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK GDPR, and similar laws — you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to willowispapp@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Grievance contact: JIYAA, Data Protection Contact, willowispapp@gmail.com.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has joined our email list, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data sent to Google's services travels over encrypted connections. Our database rules allow the app to add or remove only its own email entry and never to read anyone else's.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
